Trig TT21

Mode S Transponder, 130W, 57mm, w/ Install. Kit

Available in 2-3 weeks

The TT21 is a two part transponder system, which includes an integrated altitude encoder. In design and technology the TT21 is identical to the TT22; the only difference is that the transmitted output power of the TT21 is lower, qualifying the unit as a Class 2 transponder. Class 2 transponders may be used on aircraft cruising slower than 175 knots, and operating below 15,000 feet, IFR or VFR.

The front panel controller is smaller than a standard instrument, and the remote transponder is not much bigger than a pack of cards. The TT21 can fit into the smallest of aircraft – and yet it is fully certified and compliant with all the transponder requirements.

The TT21 can be mounted in a standard 57 mm (2 1/4 inch) instrument hole, or where space is really tight, in a compact mounting just 42 mm high.

The TT21 is TSO approved for fitting to European and FAA registered aircraft.

Trig TT22

Mode S Transponder, 250W, 57mm, w/ Install. Kit

Available in 2-3 weeks

Trig makes the world’s smallest and lightest certified GA transponders. The TT22 Trig compact transponder can fit into the tightest panel space. This allows general aviation, light sport and glider pilots to fit other instrumentation or displays that otherwise might not have been possible.

The TT22 is a class 1 transponder suitable for use in higher performance aircraft flying above 15,000 feet and / or above 175 knots.

Trig TT31

Mode S Transponder, w/ Install. Kit

Available in 2-3 weeks

TT31 is suitable for direct upgrade of the popular KT76.

The TT31 is a power-efficient, inexpensive, Mode S transponder that meets the European elementary surveillance requirements. The TT31 fits in the same mounting tray as the KT76A transponder, making it a great choice for either upgrades or new installations.

The TT31 is TSO approved for fitting to European and FAA registered aircraft. A software upgrade (expected by end of 2010) and a connection to an appropriate GPS will make the TT31 compliant with the FAA final rule on ADS-B.

All Mode S transponder upgrades for EASA certified aircraft must be carried out by a licensed engineer using a Minor Change approved by EASA. The TT31 plug and play design minimises the cost and downtime for the upgrade, and our library of pre-approaved Minor Changes for popular aircraft types means that for many customers there are no EASA fees to pay either! Trig TY91

COM Radio, 8.33 kHz , 6W, 57 mm, w/ Install. Kit

Available in 2-3 weeks

The majority of GA users including light sport, ultra-light, glider and balloon pilots will fit the Trig TY91 radio, this lower powered 6 watt model is ideal for the majority of applications.

The Trig TY91 takes up minimal space and weight. With a crisp clear display and simple user interface the Trig radio benefits from some great features; the ‘Dual Watch’ feature allows the monitoring of two frequencies at the same. There are 9 pre-set channel memories which are all easily selectable. The radio can integrate with popular GPS units; this allows the automatic display of en-route radio frequencies (uses industry standard SL40 protocol). The radio also has a built-in two place intercom with an aux-input, saving further cost and weight.

The innovative use of a control head and separate radio hardware unit provides more installation options, especially when space is at a premium. The control head can be conveniently mounted in a full 57mm (2 1”) round hole or even smaller compact mount. Fitting is straightforward, and once installed the depth of the radio control head is only 74mm (3”). In practice this means that the Trig TY91 and TY92 control head can be located in an aircraft instrument panel where a ‘single box’ radio will simply not fit. The TY91 is the perfect comms partner to our TT21 and TT22 Mode S (1090 ES ADS-B Out transponders).

The TY91 is EASA ETSO and FAA TSO approved so it can be used worldwide. For customers who do not require 8.33 channel spacing this feature can be disabled, allowing speedy selection between 50 kHz and 25 kHz spacing. This enables rapid change of frequency whilst providing fine tuning in 25 kHz steps if required.

The TY91 Trig radio two place intercom is optimised for use with standard aviation headsets – a number of adjustments allow the radio to be used successfully in noisy aircraft. The TY91 also has a built in speaker amplifier that can drive an external speaker, this is preferred by some glider pilots. If using a dynamic microphone with a Trig radio please note an amplified adaptor will be required.

All Trig products come with a two year warranty, supported by our global network of Approved Trig Dealers and Approved Trig Service Centers in the U.S. and Australia.

TRIG TY96

COM Radio, 8.33kHz ,10W, w/ Install. Kit

Available in 2-3 weeks

Trig’s TY96 aviation radio defines a new standard in dual 25 kHz and 8.33 kHz radio design. Combining great quality and performance each radio is housed within a superbly engineered unit, slim-line and light. At only 33mm high (1.3”) the radio saves valuable stack space, but retains innovative and practical features. The TY96 is a certified 10 Watt radio, designed for general aviation and light sport applications, it is ideally suited to the needs of experienced and novice pilots alike.

The TY96 display is clear and bright, showing both primary and secondary frequencies along with ICAO or custom set airfield identifiers. A ‘Push Step’ knob allows the fastest change from 8.33 kHz to 25 kHz – so you can tune the radio quickly without compromising your look-out. The Dual Watch feature allows two frequencies to be monitored at the same time – it’s like having two radios in one.

The radio has a ‘Say Again’ feature. A single button press replays the last radio transmission. This feature is ideal for student pilots, but every pilot can get distracted, so it avoids the embarrassment of asking air traffic to repeat a message. A one touch Emergency Button automatically sets 121.5 MHz, along with mic and volume levels. This ensures a successful transmission in what can be a stressful situation.

Each radio has a built in two place intercom with auxiliary inputs for stereo music and audio warnings. Each radio can also integrate with a GPS (SL40 protocol) to automatically display frequencies as they are required along the flight route. Finally, an airfield database can be loaded via the handy USB port. This database can contain over 200 of your preferred frequencies and identifiers.

The radio’s low profile design requires no external cooling fans. The radios compact size and features make it a great choice for both forward and retro-fit installations. Each radio is designed to easily integrate with legacy radios, these include popular KY 196A, KY 197A and SL 40 models.
