Aeroshell Oil 80

Aeroshell Oil 80

Oil, 1l 9.31

Aeroshell 80 is a low density piston engine oil ideal for use during colder months and is recommended for use in new engines. AeroShell 80 is a straight mineral oil (SAE 40) blended from selected high viscosity index base oils.

AeroShell 80 is approved for all aviation piston engines of civil aircraft when the use of an oil not containing a dispersant additive is required. Aeroshell 80 oil should also be used during the break-in of a new aviation piston engine or those recently overhauled. AeroShell 80 does not contain any additives except for very small amounts of pour point depressant, which aids to improve fluidity at very low temperatures and an anti-oxidant. Specially blended High Viscosity Index base oil in AeroShell Oil 80 is designed to provide effective protection to engine components compared to conventional mineral oils. This ensures complete confidence and peace of mind knowing that your aircraft will perform reliably in between scheduled overhauls.

Aeroshell Oil W80

Oil,1qt

Available in 2-3 weeks

Aeroshell W80 aircraft oil is a lighter weight oil for colder months in aircraft which are frequently flown. AeroShell Oils W80, W100 and W120 are ashless dispersant oils specifically developed for aviation piston engines.

They combine non-metallic additives with selected high viscosity index base oils to give exceptional stability, dispersancy and anti-foaming performance. No general rule exists for every engine type when choosing the correct grade of oil; however, based on the average ambient outside temperature at engine start-up the most common grades are SAE 40, SAE 50 and SAE 60, which equates to AeroShell Oil W80, W100 and W120 respectively. Traditionally, the choice is associated with climatic zones – AeroShell W80 for cold climate regions (-17 – 21°C), AeroShell Oil W100 for temperate regions (15 – 30°C) and AeroShell Oil W120 for warmer climates (above 26°C).

Aeroshell Oil W80 Plus

Oil, 1l

Available in 2-3 weeks

AeroShell W80 Plus is a single grade aircraft oil with anti-corrosion and anti-wear additive package developed for use in colder months.

Building on the success of AeroShell Oil W 100 Plus, AeroShell W 80 Plus introduces the anti-wear and anti-corrosion additives of its “big brother” in a lighter, single grade oil for use in colder climates. The anti-wear additive, equivalent to the Lycoming LW16702, reduces wear on start up by forming a microscopic layer on the engine’s moving parts to prevent metal-to-metal contact when there is little oil present. Combined with the protection of a corrosion inhibitor, it’s designed for those pilots who fly in cooler weather or less frequently. AeroShell Oil W 80 Plus is the new cold-weather product for those pilots who prefer single grade oils but who also want the extra protection that performance-proven anti-wear and anti-corrosion additives can bring.

Aeroshell Turbine Oil 390

Oil, 1qt

Available in 2-3 weeks

AeroShell Turbine Oil 390 was developed primarily as an improved 3 mm2/s oil for British turbo-jet engines to meet DEF STAN 91-94 but is fully approved for a wide range of turbine engines.

AeroShell Turbine Oil 390 is a 3 mm2/s synthetic diester oil incorporating a carefully selected and balanced combination of additives to improve thermal and oxidation stability and to increase the load carrying ability of the base oil. More recently, because of the low temperature characteristics of Turbine Oil 390, there is interest in using this oil in auxiliary power units (APU) in order to overcome the effects of cold soak. Normal practice is to shut down the APU during cruise, the APU then experiences cold soak, often prolonged, and when the unit is started there is considerable difficulty resulting in the unit not coming up to speed in the given time, thus causing a hung start.
